DNAzymes
DNAzymes, also known as deoxyribozymes or DNA enzymes, are single strands of DNA which have catalytic activity. Whilst not found in nature, a wide variety of DNAzymes have been discovered by in vitro evolution to catalyse a broad repertoire of chemical reactions. Their potential as both therapeutic and diagnostic tools has been extensively investigated. Two of the most widely studied are the 10:23 and 8:17 DNAzymes which catalyse the cleavage of nucleic acid substrates. These molecules and others have significant potential in the sensor/nanotechnology arena.

SpeeDx Pty Ltd has exclusive rights to the DNAzyme technology and is willing to licence these remarkable molecules for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
